Social Studies

Introduction
The goal of social studies is to understand how individuals and societies function. It blends the social sciences, which study how people and groups interact in society, with the humanities, which study things like culture, beliefs, languages, and values. It also includes geography and environmental studies, which concentrate on the land and human interactions with it; history, which looks at how people and the world have changed over time; and economics and politics, which look at businesses, governments, and power.
Students benefit from social studies because it aids in their understanding of society and history. It teaches us about the formation and evolution of nations, how the world functions, and how a person's identity and perspective can be shaped by their community.
Social Studies gives students useful skills they can use both in school and in real life. In class, we practice reading maps, checking if sources are reliable, and finding good information. We also learn to look at different points of view and connect things from the past to what’s happening today.
